TEER 3: common questions
What does TEER 3 mean?
TEER 3 is a level in Canada's NOC 2021 Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities system. Occupations that usually need a college program or apprenticeship of less than two years, or more than six months of on-the-job training. It is the second digit of a five-digit NOC code, so every TEER 3 code looks like X3XXX.
Are TEER 3 jobs eligible for PR?
Yes, by TEER. Express Entry's Federal Skilled Worker Program and Canadian Experience Class accept work experience in TEER 0, 1, 2 and 3 jobs. You still need enough experience, language test results and CRS points.
Is TEER 3 the same as NOC B?
Roughly. IRCC maps the old NOC 2016 skill level B to TEER 3 (skill level B was split into TEER 2 and TEER 3). Codes changed from four to five digits, so look up the new code rather than reusing the old one.
