If you are looking for a NOC B jobs list, you are using the old system. On November 16, 2022, Canada switched immigration programs from NOC 2016 to NOC 2021, and the letter skill levels were replaced by six TEER categories.
How NOC 0, A, B, C and D map to TEER
| NOC 2016 | NOC 2021 | What it usually needs | Express Entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skill type 0 | TEER 0 | Management occupations | Counts |
| Skill level A | TEER 1 | A university degree | Counts |
| Skill level B | TEER 2 | College of 2 to 3 years, apprenticeship of 2 to 5 years, or supervisory or safety responsibility | Counts |
| Skill level B | TEER 3 | College under 2 years, short apprenticeship, or more than 6 months of on-the-job training | Counts |
| Skill level C | TEER 4 | High school, or several weeks of on-the-job training | Does not count |
| Skill level D | TEER 5 | A short work demonstration | Does not count |
So "NOC B" now means TEER 2 or TEER 3. When a forum or employer says a job is NOC B, find its new five-digit code and read the second digit.
The full former NOC B lists
- TEER 2 jobs list: technicians, technologists, skilled trades, supervisors, early childhood educators, licensed practical nurses and more
- TEER 3 jobs list: cooks, bakers, butchers, nurse aides, administrative assistants, truck drivers and more
Each list links to every code's page with its main duties, so you can check that your duties really match.
Examples of former NOC B jobs and their new codes
| Job | NOC 2021 code | TEER |
|---|---|---|
| Carpenter | 72310 | 2 |
| Early childhood educator | 42202 | 2 |
| Licensed practical nurse | 32101 | 2 |
| Chef | 62200 | 2 |
| Cook | 63200 | 3 |
| Administrative assistant | 13110 | 3 |
| Transport truck driver | 73300 | 3 |
| Nurse aide / PSW in a facility | 33102 | 3 |
What changed for people who were NOC C
A few former skill level C jobs were moved up to TEER 3 in NOC 2021, which made them eligible for Express Entry. Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates (now 33102) are one well-known example. If your old code was NOC C, look up your duties under NOC 2021 before you assume you are not eligible.
NOC B jobs in Ontario and other provinces
Provinces use the same NOC 2021 codes. Their nominee programs often publish their own target lists by code, so check your province's program page against the code you found. For Express Entry-linked streams, TEER 0 to 3 is still the usual rule.

Common questions
Is TEER 3 the same as NOC B?
Partly. NOC 2016 skill level B was split in two. Former NOC B jobs are now either TEER 2 or TEER 3, depending on how much training they need.
Are NOC B jobs still eligible for Express Entry?
Yes. Their replacements, TEER 2 and TEER 3, count as skilled work experience for the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Canadian Experience Class.
Is there a NOC B jobs list PDF?
There is no official NOC B list any more. Use the TEER 2 and TEER 3 lists on nocfinder, which you can print or save as PDF from your browser.
