Which NOC codes are eligible for PR in Canada?

Express Entry accepts work in TEER 0, 1, 2 and 3 NOC codes. Here is how PR eligibility works by NOC code for FSW, CEC, FST, category-based draws and provincial programs.

There is no single "PR jobs list" in Canada. Whether your job counts depends on the program and on your job's NOC code, mostly its TEER level. Here is how each route treats NOC codes.

Express Entry: Federal Skilled Worker and Canadian Experience Class

Both programs accept work experience in any NOC 2021 code with TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3. That is about 70% of all codes. You can read the TEER from the second digit of the code:

Being in an eligible TEER does not get you an invitation by itself. You also need enough continuous work experience, language test results, education and a CRS score above the draw cut-off.

Federal Skilled Trades Program

FST has its own list of eligible groups (checked with IRCC on 2026-11-05):

  • Major groups 72 (except sub-major group 726), 73, 82, 83, 92 and 93 (except sub-major group 932)
  • Minor group 6320 (cooks, butchers and bakers)
  • Unit group 62200 (chefs)

Every nocfinder code page shows whether the code is on this list.

Category-based Express Entry draws

IRCC runs targeted draws for healthcare and social services, STEM, trades, education, transport and other groups, each with a list of NOC codes. Being on one of these lists can mean a lower CRS cut-off. See all category-based NOC codes.

Provincial nominee programs

Provinces publish their own target occupations by NOC code, and many accept TEER 4 and 5 jobs in specific streams (for example in health care, food processing, trucking or agriculture). Check the current list for your province.

Pilots for TEER 4 and 5

Federal pilots have opened PR to some TEER 4 and 5 jobs, for example home care workers (44100, 44101) and some agri-food and rural community roles. These programs change often, so check IRCC for what is open now.

How to check your own code

  1. Find your NOC code from your duties.
  2. Read the TEER from the second digit.
  3. Open the code page on nocfinder. It shows FSW, CEC and FST status and any category-based list.
  4. Check your province's list if you are aiming for a nominee program.

Common questions

Which TEER is eligible for PR in Canada?

For Express Entry, TEER 0, 1, 2 and 3. TEER 4 and 5 jobs can lead to PR through some provincial nominee streams and federal pilots.

Is there a list of NOC codes eligible for Express Entry?

There is no single list for the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Canadian Experience Class. Any NOC 2021 code with TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 qualifies. Category-based draws and the Federal Skilled Trades Program do have lists.

Are TEER 4 jobs eligible for PR?

Not through Express Entry. Some provincial programs and federal pilots accept TEER 4 and TEER 5 work, usually with a job offer and other conditions.
